Your Romantic Restaurant And The Hunger That Feeds It

All right, you have a date set up. You are going to a romantic restaurant for two. You’ve done the house keeping, and you don’t look like something out of the seventies, right? No disco mitts.

Eating is as much a part of who we are, as the skin that holds our bodies together. We eat when we’re happy and when we’re sad. We’ll eat alone with our families, or together with strangers. Our bodies require the fuel our hearts also desire therefore food for the heart feeds a hunger of the soul.

Before you think about taking your date to a romantic restaurant, consider this: many factors go into a good meal. The first is mood. Whether you are preparing a meal or eating out, mood is vital to the balance of the evening. A terrible mood is as souring to the date as a burnt steak. Try and remember that your date did nothing wrong. Leave your hate for the boss and your frustration involving the loss of your favorite shoes to your little dog, at home. This moment is reserved for the two of you.

Think about what you want the night to be like without structuring the date into a set timetable. Nothing in life is certain, so it is better to leave yourself different options. Thinking about a few different scenarios will give you the flexibility to work with your date. This is especially helpful if you are still getting to know the other person. Also, it sends a message to the other person that you are fun to be with, and you are serious about the time you spend together. It is these confident and decisive choices that will leave the lasting impression. However, there is a fine line between confidence and controlling. Controlling behavior or indecisive decision making are two attributes that you don't want to bring out on the date. Therefore, offering your date a variety of suggestions while allowing for flexibility will tell him or her that you are easy going and excited about your date. Of course, this all assumes that you don't already have plans scheduled.

When thinking about what to do on your date, ask yourself these questions.

Are you two going out to a romantic restaurant for dinner? Or, will you stay in and make your home into a romantic restaurant for two? If you go out, where will you go? Does it involve a sultry table for two by the window, or a discrete booth in the back of an empty restaurant. If you stay home, will you cook a magnificent meal for two, or rely on someone else by calling for takeout.

If you stay in, where will you eat? Will you eat your food off of each other? Will it be by candlelight? Can you get away with a bed picnic? Maybe the salad fork needs to be polished?

And then there was silence.

What’s a night without music? You notice its absence during those uncomfortable silences. But, we’re not going to have any of those, right? Wrong. It happens to everyone. With a little music filling the void, the silences will seem less painful. The only question then is: Will it be Mary J. Blige or Enya? There is no right answer to this one. It comes down to preference. If you fake it now, you’ll regret it later. Don’t be afraid to play what you like. Music is very representative of who we are, but tonight it is just background ambiance. So, go ahead and play Slayer, if you like Slayer, but remember the volume is your friend.

Let’s get back to food. You have decided what you are doing for food. You’re going out to a romantic restaurant. It’s the little Italian place on the corner. Wait! Does she like Italian food? You should know if she likes Italian food. Pick a restaurant where you can feel comfortable hopefully the both of you can agree on this. If not, there are many other options. Here are just a few.

King Crab Pulling succulent crab meat from their juicy claws is not only messy, but it is also a fun way two diners can enjoy a relaxing and stomach pleasing evening at a romantic restaurant for two.

Dinner theaters keep the element of mystery through the art of performance. Once there, you’ll enjoy a date complete with dinner and intrigue performed in front of you. You’ll sit back and enjoy the night as it unfolds into an array of red herrings and deceit. Usually, Murder Mystery’s take place in halls or theaters with lot’s of people in attendance.

Dinner Theater An at home who-dunnit dinner party is a smaller version of this, and it allows for a more active role by its participants. Also, it provides a fun and safe evening; in addition, you get a delicious meal and a story, all the while getting to the bottom of the caper and ultimately solving the mysterious murder, which has brought you all together. The one draw back is it takes some planning and organizing for this to take shape.

One final tip about creating a romantic restaurant for two in your home. Candles and music are great but only in moderation. Too many candles and your date may think she’s in church and needs to say a prayer. If the music’s too loud, you’ll produce a headache and an early evening. Just remember that candles and music are like undoing the top button of your shirt. There’s a time and a place for chest hair!

Remember our factors?

Well, the last one I want to talk about is creativity. This may overwhelm some people. Don’t let it! Part of creativity is just being you. Of course, the other part is doing something unexpected, such as, setting up a fantastic meal in bed for the one you love. If you really enjoy their company and love to make them smile, creativity will present itself throughout your dates just by doing what comes naturally.
